Headland Benefice

Curious about faith?

We believe in God, the Creator; the teachings of his son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit, who is alive and works with us and through us.

That all sounds very simple when it's put like that. But the reality is more complicated. We all come to Jesus through different routes but we all follow Him in faith and hope in the power of the Holy Spirit. God has made himself known to us in different ways.

Pilgrims at St Peter's Reighton

Archbishop Justin Welby said, "The most important decision any person can make is to become a disciple of Jesus Christ. It's the best thing anyone can do."

It's natural to have questions about faith!

Being a follower of Jesus is not about having all the answers. It's about following the path that he has shown us. Through the hard times and the good.

We are not perfect! We admit our failings and say sorry to God for them. He knows us and - crucially - forgives us because he loves us.

Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbour as yourself.'" [The Gospel of Luke, Chapter 10, verse 27]

Love is the very heart of everything we do and everything we are
